Access to Dental Services for Children (0–17)
Healthy Smiles Ontario is a free dental program for eligible children and youth 17 years of age and under. Additional information can be found on the Healthy Smiles Ontario website.
Access to Dental Services for Adults (18+)
Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit have limited funds to assist adults living in Leeds and Grenville with emergency dental treatment, (e.g. pain, infection, and/or swelling). Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program
The Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program (OSDCP) aims to increase quality of life for seniors, reduce chronic disease and health inequities, and prevent unnecessary trips to the hospital. There is a large local need for this program; it is important to note that in Leeds, Grenville and Lanark, 55.5% of our population over age 65 report having no access to dental insurance (Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit, 2017).
