3 years is correct! In 2015 the Health Unit submitted a comprehensive application to become a pre-designate. We had to commit to agency wide implementation and sustainability of 5 best practice guidelines over 3 years. We succeeded at meeting all the requirements and received our designation in 2017.

False is correct! Many organizations produce best practice guidelines to assist health care professionals in providing evidence informed care. The RNAO BPG’s do that as well, and they go beyond that to provide current evidence to influence the environments where that care is provided. Best practice guidelines on topics such as Equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), Healthy work environments (HWE), and Mental Health and substance use, provide a roadmap for all health care and social service agencies to achieve better outcomes for their clients and communities.
