Drinking Water Advisories

Small Drinking Water Systems

Small Drinking Water Systems (SDWS) are regulated under Ontario Regulation 319. When conditions are present that may make the water supply serving the public unsafe for drinking, operators are required to report to the Health Unit. A public health inspector will assess the risk, provide information on corrective actions and may issue a Boil Water Advisory (BWO) for bacterial contamination or a Drinking Water Advisory (for chemical contamination or other conditions where boiling the water may make conditions worse). These advisories remain in place until the water is safe to drink. Information on SDWS’s that have been issued an advisory is listed below:

Address: 8289 Highway 15, Carleton Place, Ontario
Adverse Event Type: Bacterial Contamination
Date Advisory Issued: August 2, 2018
Date Advisory Lifted: October 11, 2018
