Fall 2025 RSV Vaccine and mAB Update
Before placing your RSV vaccine or Infant mAB order, please review the following information.
Vaccine orders are now on a weekly basis. Please limit your order quantities and order more frequently.
- Sufficient vaccine fridge space will be a challenge for both the Health Unit and Health Care facilities in the fall of 2025
- The Health Unit will be receiving their vaccine allotments in stages to accommodate all of the seasonal vaccines in our vaccine fridges.
Adult RSV Program
The Health Unit is aware of the large number of residents in our area who are unattached. i.e. no Health Care Provider.
We will be planning for clinics for these residents only. We are not able to accommodate individuals that are attached to a primary care provider, they will be directed back to their own health care provider as pharmacists have not been authorized to administer this vaccine.
Infant RSV Program
Beyfortus mAB (monoclonal antibodies) will be made available for order once the Health Unit receives this product which is expected in September.
Guidelines for eligibility of infants born between RSV seasons will be made available in September.
Newborn infants will be offered mAB in hospital prior to discharge early this fall.
RSV vaccine will be available to administer to pregnant women, keeping in mind that this is not the most effective way to provide infant protection, and will prevent the infant from being eligible to receive the mAB at birth.
Updated guidance documents will be found on the provincial website in mid-September.
