September 2019 E-Bits – High School Edition

For Administrators and Educators

Fresh from the Farm Fundraiser! Fresh from the Farm is an exciting opportunity for Ontario schools to fundraise by selling Ontario-grown fruit and vegetables. Schools can enroll now; fundraising begins September 3, 2019. This is an excellent way to bring healthy eating into the school environment and support the Food Charter; take a look at the foodcoreLGL school toolkit. Submit your orders by October 11, 2019 and deliveries will arrive at the schools between November 4 and December 5, 2019. To learn more, visit: http://www.freshfromfarm.ca/About.aspx

Mental Health & Well-Being: Schools have a unique opportunity to positively influence students through educating, role modeling, and creating healthy and supportive learning environments. Building positive mental health in school environments involves addressing the basic psychological or positive mental health needs of students, staff and other members of the school community. Where does your child dream of working one day? The Government of Canada wants to support the dreams of children across Canada through the Canada Learning Bond. Even if you do not add any money your child could be eligible for an RESP to kick start their dreams after high school.
