Community-based COVID-19 Assessment Centre for Brockville/Leeds Grenville Residents Starts Today

March 27, 2020

BROCKVILLE – Starting today, March 27, 2020, Brockville and Leeds Grenville residents will have access to a community-based novel coronavirus (COVID-19) assessment centre. The assessment centre will be located at the Memorial Centre, at 100 Magedoma Boulevard, Brockville.

Hours of operation will be from Monday to Friday 10:00am–5:30pm and Saturday and Sunday 10:00am–2:30pm.

The assessment centre will be led by the Upper Canada Family Health Team, the Leeds Grenville Community Family Health Team, Athens District Family Health Team, Prescott Family Health Team, the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit, with the support of Brockville General Hospital.

Anyone who thinks they may have COVID-19 is encouraged to go to the Ministry of Health’s website and complete a self-assessment online. Appointments will be made by referral only. Referrals can be sent by your primary care provider (family doctor, nurse practitioner, or clinic) or, if you do not have a provider, by the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit. If you have questions, please contact your health care provider or the Health Unit and they will direct you through the next steps.

Testing for COVID-19 will only be performed on individuals who meet the current criteria for testing. This includes symptoms of cough, fever, or shortness of breath, as well as possible exposure history e.g., travel outside the country and/or close contact with a suspect or confirmed person.

We ask that individuals who come for an appointment arrive by themselves, if possible, to accommodate physical distancing. If you need assistance, please limit it to only one person.

If you are experiencing serious symptoms (including difficulty breathing), please call 911 or go the nearest emergency room. It is best to call ahead so they can prepare for your arrival.

If you have general questions about COVID-19, go to or call 1-800-660-5853 extension 2499. You can also connect with LGLHealthUnit on Facebook and Twitter for important public health updates.

The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit is a partner in the development of this Centre.
