Part 8 Services

Attention all sewage installers and on-site wastewater industry partners…

As we approach the transition date of October 1, 2022 the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit want to let you know of the direction our municipal partners have taken to continue providing inspection services and permit issuance for septic systems under 10,000 litres per day.

The map below shows the regions grouped by how they are providing services:

The map is provided to assist you in navigating to the correct agency that will be taking in new sewage permit applications as of October 1, 2022.

Those shown in green will transfer the principle authority to Mississippi-Rideau Septic System Office which will serve townships of: Mississippi Mills, Beckwith, North Grenville, Lanark Highlands, Town of Carleton Place and Town of Smiths Falls and continuing to serve Tay Valley Township.

Those in blue will transfer the principle authority to South Nation Conservation Authority which serves the townships of: Edwardsburgh-Cardinal, Augusta, Elizabethtown-Kitley and Front of Yonge.

Those shown in orange are shared services with another municipality

The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit will carry out all inspection work for permits received or extended on or before September 30, 2022. Permits will have one year from the date of issuance, no later than the end of 2023. These inspections will be completed over the next year by our Part 8 staff.

The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit want to thank you for the many years of dedication that you within the sewage industry have helped to protect our environment and water supply. We will continue to work with our municipalities and industry partners in achieving good health for all within our community.
