School Suspension Process 2025
Under the Immunization of School Pupils Act, parents are required to submit their child’s immunization records to the Health Unit.
To give parents/caregivers appropriate notice, letters alerting them of missing immunization records and the associated suspension date will be going out for children born in 2008, 2017 and 2020 starting January 13, 2025 for the CDSBEO, CEPEO and CECCE school boards.
The notice will include information on how to submit immunization records and the exemption process..
This will be the only notification to families
Additional notices will go to families of children with missing doses of required immunizations for children born in 2008, 2017 and 2020. Suspension dates will not apply in these notices but there will be a deadline to submit updated records The cut off date to comply in order to avoid suspension is February 25, 2025.
The suspension is up to 20 days in length.
The UCDSB notices will go to families starting February 10, 2025 for the same birth years with the same information regarding missing doses and missing immunization records.
The cut off date to comply in order to avoid suspension for this group is March 24th 2025

Immunization clinics will be offered at the Health Unit for students with suspension letters. Each school will be provided with a daily list of students who remain suspended from school.
