Event Transportation
Event transportation plans that consider pedestrians, cyclists, accessibility, and emergency routes will ease congestion and lead to a safer and more enjoyable event for all.
- A bike friendly event can contribute to the health, safety and prosperity of your community.
- Offer and promote bicycle parking, ride sharing and shuttle services.
- Encourage parking away from the event and walking the last 5-10 minutes for staff and participants who are able to do so.
- Include wayfinding signs for participants travelling by foot, bike, or vehicle.
- Provide accessible parking, see Ontario’s Guide to Accessible Festivals & Outdoor Events.
- Contact the local municipality to consult on their event planning guidelines and by-laws including their process for emergency planning and on road closure permissions.
