Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Services, the Corporate Associate Director, Information Technology (IT) and Information Management (IM) is responsible for directing strategic initiatives in the areas of information technology and information management.

The primary functions of the Corporate Associate Director will be to provide strategic IT/IM leadership to the agency during the South East Health Unit merger. This includes the alignment of IT systems and infrastructure, data and information management, IP software and service provider contracts, and physical facilities. It will also involve the updating of IT/IM policies and programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and to meet the agency’s operational and security needs.

In addition, the position manages and works closely with the IT/IM managers in developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing policies, functions, and activities.

The Corporate Associate Director IT/IM responsibilities span across more than one office and will require travel to support the successful management of the agency’s IT/IM systems and programs.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a business-related discipline relevant to the roles of this position is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (e.g., Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Information Management) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relevant IT certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator/Engineer, ITIL, Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Records and Information Management Certificate).
  • Five (5) years progressive leadership and management experience in the administration of a public agency or business, including IT and IM experience at the management level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IT and IM governance, current technologies, principles, methodologies, best practices and trends relating to the delivery of IT and IM Services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of privacy legislation.
  • Excellent knowledge of project management.
  • Demonstrated software proficiency.
  • French language an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
