Dangerous Weeds

Dangerous Weeds

Wild Parsnip, Poison Ivy, and Giant Hogweed are three common noxious weeds in our area. Coming into contact with these dangerous weeds can cause severe skin reactions. The sap of Wild Parsnip and Giant Hogweed can cause severe burns and if it gets into your eyes it may cause blindness. The Health Unit provides resources to help the public identify dangerous weeds and how to prevent coming into contact with them.
