Dangerous Weeds

Coming into contact with dangerous weeds such as Poison Ivy, Wild Parsnip, and Giant Hogweed can cause severe skin reactions which may leave a person with severe scaring or blindness. The Health Unit provides resources to help the public identify dangerous weeds and how to prevent coming into contact with them while enjoying the outdoors or removing them from your property. Wild parsnip, poison ivy and giant hogweed are three common noxious weeds in our area, for more information see the resources below.
