Harm reduction programs work to prevent the harms associated with drug use, such as Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV and other infections. Harm reduction programs also provide education, counselling and referrals to people who use substances.
Since 2005 the Smart Works program has provided harm reduction services to community members across Leeds, Grenville and Lanark. Smart Works offers 3 programs; Smart Gear, Revive Overdose Response and the Safer Inhalation Program.
