RNAO Best Practice Spotlight Organization
Best Practice Spotlight Organizations (BPSOs) are health-care and academic organizations selected by the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) through a request for proposals process to implement and evaluate the RNAO’s best practice guidelines. Since its commencement, several research projects has proven the positive outcomes related to improving client care and patient outcomes associated with best practice guideline implementation. Visit the RNAO BPSO initiative website for more information.
In 2015 the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit joined only four other health units (Grey Bruce, Niagara, Thunder Bay and Toronto) in seeking designation as a BPSO organization. Together, 550 health care and academic organizations around the world are involved in a dynamic partnership that focuses on making a positive impact on patient care though evidence-based practice. We have chosen five best practice guidelines to focus on during our pre-designation period:
- Enhancing Healthy Adolescent Development
- Working with Families to Promote Safe Sleep for Infants 0–12 Months
- Integrating Smoking Cessation into Daily Nursing Practice
- Interventions for Post-Partum Depression
- Person & Family Centred Care
