RNAO Best Practice Spotlight Organization

Best Practice Spotlight Organization Logo

Best Practice Spotlight Organizations (BPSOs) are health-care and academic organizations selected by the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) through a request for proposals process to implement and evaluate the RNAO’s best practice guidelines. Since its commencement, several research projects has proven the positive outcomes related to improving client care and patient outcomes associated with best practice guideline implementation. Visit the RNAO BPSO initiative website for more information.

In 2015 the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit joined only four other health units (Grey Bruce, Niagara, Thunder Bay and Toronto) in seeking designation as a BPSO organization. Together, 550 health care and academic organizations around the world are involved in a dynamic partnership that focuses on making a positive impact on patient care though evidence-based practice. We have chosen five best practice guidelines to focus on during our pre-designation period:

RNAO BPSO Designation
The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit achieved designation through the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario as a Best Practice Spotlight Organization on April 19, 2018. The designation validates the excellent work that all the staff at the Health Unit perform for our community. Accepting the certificate on behalf of the Health Unit are Tanis Brown, Erin McLean, Lucia Taggart and Jane Hess.
